A delicious appetizer for any gathering. Delicious lightly salted brynza is the perfect appetizer for any buffet or holiday table. You can take it with you on a trip, to work, or on a picnic. Serve the brynza cold with various vegetables and baked goods. It can be served warm or chilled.

    Prepare the specified ingredients. Cottage cheese and milk of any fat content can be used.

    Pour the milk into a saucepan or pot. Add the cottage cheese and sprinkle in the salt. Place the pot on the stove and turn the heat to medium.

    Stir and bring almost to a boil. Thanks to the cottage cheese, the milk will curdle, with curd on top and whey on the bottom. Turn off the heat.

    Line a colander with a double layer of cheesecloth or a linen or cotton cloth. Pour the contents of the container into the colander. The whey will drain into the container beneath the colander, and the curd cheese will remain in the cloth. Gather the cloth by the edges and hang it in a bundle over the sink for 15–20 minutes to drain off excess liquid.

    Then place it in a deep bowl. Melt the butter in a saucepan or skillet and pour it into the container with the cottage cheese. Mix gently and taste—the mixture should be slightly salty.
