
Homemade marshmallows
Description
This marshmallow is like sweet, fluffy clouds. It will make a wonderful dessert for a party or a home celebration.

Step 1

1. Sift the starch and powdered sugar together into a small bowl. Lightly grease a 20x20 cm baking pan. Pour 1 tablespoon of the sugar mixture into the pan, tilting and shaking it to coat the bottom and sides.

2. In a small saucepan, mix the gelatin with water and let it stand for 5 minutes. Add granulated sugar and cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves completely.

3. Pour the gelatin mixture into a bowl, add corn syrup, salt, and vanilla extract. Beat with a mixer at high speed for 15 minutes. The mixture will become sticky and thick.

4. Pour the mixture into the prepared mold. Level the surface with a spatula. Let it stand for 2 hours.

5. Using a wet knife, cut the marshmallow into 4 parts. Cut each part into 9 slices.

6. Roll each slice in the remaining sugar mixture to evenly coat the pieces on all sides.

7. Place the marshmallows on a rack, cover with a paper towel, and let stand for 24 hours. This will prevent the marshmallows from sticking together. Store the marshmallows in an airtight container for up to 1 month.
