Homemade oat kvass

Description

In summer, it's important to eat fresh and natural foods. When it's hot and you feel thirsty, many of us prefer sweet carbonated drinks over plain water or natural lemonades. Here's a budget-friendly and healthy alternative—homemade oat kvass. Remember this recipe—you can serve it.

    Bring the water to a boil, dissolve the sugar in it, and let it cool.

    Wash and dry the oats (unhulled!).

    Place the oats into a 3-liter jar, pour in the water. Gently stir, cover the jar with a cloth, and leave it in a warm place for 3 days.

    Then carefully strain (you can reuse the oats for the next batch of kvass). Add honey and raisins. Mix well and refrigerate for about 10–12 hours.
