Description
Perfectly complements tea and coffee. Often in the post-Soviet region, "Napoleon" is served completely plain. I recommend giving the traditional "Napoleon" a little redesign and decorating it with fruits and berries (strawberries, blueberries), plus you can also add sprigs of mint. You might be wondering,
Instructions
- 1
Step 1
First, beat the eggs and sugar using an electric mixer.
- 2
Step 2
Then add flour to the beaten eggs, beat again, and then pour in half a cup of milk.
- 3
Step 3
Next, take a saucepan, pour 3 cups of milk into it, and heat until it comes to a boil (but do not let it boil over!).
- 4
Step 4
Take the beaten eggs with milk and gradually pour them into the hot milk, constantly stirring to prevent lumps from forming.
- 5
Step 5
The next step is heating your future custard cream. Place the saucepan with the mixture on the stove and heat over low heat, stirring constantly until the cream thickens. Then let the cream cool completely.
- 6
Step 6
Now you need to thaw the puff pastry sheets, dust the surface of the table with flour, and place each sheet on it one by one. Using a rolling pin, roll each sheet into a rectangle measuring 30x40 cm. You should end up with 6 pastry layers.
- 7
Step 7
Again, using a rolling pin, transfer the puff pastry sheet to a baking tray and prick it well with a fork.
- 8
Step 8
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees and bake each tortilla until golden (approximately 10 minutes). Bake 2 tortillas at a time.
- 9
Step 9
While the cake layers are baking, you should also prepare the custard cream. After it has cooled completely, add vanilla and thawed whipped cream to it.
- 10
Step 10
Now add softened butter to the custard cream and beat well.
- 11
Step 11
Now let's assemble our cake. Spread cream between 5 layers, and use the 6th one for sprinkling on top.
- 12
Step 12
Next, crumble the remaining cake layer, cover the entire cake (including the sides) with the crumbs, and decorate with fresh fruits and berries.
