
Homemade kvass from rye bread without yeast
Description
The drink is quick and easy to prepare. A wonderful, invigorating and refreshing beverage! This is homemade yeast-free rye bread kvass made at home. By the way, the sediment left after straining can be reused to make several more batches of kvass. Good luck! Serve chilled.

Cut the bread into small pieces and dry in the oven until golden brown. Let the croutons cool, then transfer them to a pot or jar. Add sugar and warm boiled water. Cover with a towel and leave to ferment in a warm place for two days.

Pour the wort into a 3-liter jar, add another 2 tablespoons of sugar, and fill with warm boiled water almost to the top. Cover again with a towel and leave for 1 day at room temperature. The kvass is ready when it has the characteristic taste and smell.

Strain the kvass through a cheesecloth and pour it into clean plastic or glass bottles. If desired, you can add more sugar or a little honey. Chill the kvass in the refrigerator. Ready!
