Step 1

1. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, and salt. Combine milk and yogurt together. Make a well in the center of the dry mixture and pour in half of the milk mixture. Then gradually add the remaining mixture.
- 2
Step 2

2. There is no recipe that specifies the exact amount of liquid needed for the dough, so add it gradually until the dough becomes soft. Mix the dough with a spoon.
- 3
Step 3

3. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest in a warm place for at least 2 hours.
- 4
Step 4

4. After that, knead the dough for 2-3 minutes. Divide the dough into small balls (about 8 balls).
- 5
Step 5

5. Sprinkle the work surface with flour and roll out each piece of dough. It should be slightly thick and somewhat elongated. Sprinkle the flatbreads with your choice of seasonings. Moisten the other side with a brush dipped in water.
- 6
Step 6

6. Heat a heavy-bottomed skillet, place the naan moist side down and cover with a lid. Cook for about 30 seconds, until you see bubbles forming on the flatbread.
- 7
Step 7

7. Now cook the naan on the other side over the flame of a gas burner, holding them with tongs. When you see charred brown spots, the naan is ready.
- 8
Step 8

8. Brush the naan generously with butter and serve.
