Homemade Microwave Chips
Description
Perfect with meals and drinks. If you have children, you're probably also worried about a very relevant problem—kids love junk food, and chips in particular. The chips sold in supermarkets are downright poison. What to do? I suggest not punishing the children, but simply getting them used to making homemade chips. Homemade chips, of course, are hardly a healthy snack either, but of two evils, it's better to choose the lesser one. Fortunately, making homemade chips in the microwave is very easy.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Thinly slice the potatoes.
- 2
Step 2

Soak the sliced potatoes in cold water for 15–20 minutes to remove all the starch.
- 3
Step 3

Then dry the potatoes using a kitchen towel.
- 4
Step 4

Sprinkle the dried potatoes with desired spices.
- 5
Step 5

Make the chips in small batches in the microwave, for about 3 minutes on the highest power setting.
- 6
Step 6

Then flip it over, reduce the temperature by half, and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
- 7
Step 7

Prepare all the remaining chips the same way. As soon as the chips start to develop a brown crust, remove them from the microwave right away; otherwise they'll dry out too much and won't taste good.

Step 8

Potato chips are ready!
