
Dzhizak-style samsa
Description
The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. Traditional Uzbek samosa. Prepare it as follows: knead the dough from flour, water, egg, oil, and salt, then refrigerate for 30 minutes. For the filling, chop the onion and meat, add spices. Roll out the dough into flatbreads, place a portion of the filling on each, and seal the edges. Dip the seam side into vegetable oil and place the samosas on a baking tray. Bake in the oven for 40 minutes and serve warm. The finished dish can be served at the table.

Mix the flour, water, egg, oil, and salt. Knead the dough and refrigerate it for half an hour.

Cut the meat and onion, mix them in a bowl. Add salt and spices, mix well.

Divide the dough into pieces and roll them out. Place a small amount of meat—about a tablespoon—on each flatbread.

Lift two opposite edges of the dough and pinch them together over the filling. Do the same with the other two edges. This way, you gather the dough from all four sides toward the center. Pinch tightly and shape the samsa into a ball.

Dip the seam in vegetable oil and place it on a baking sheet. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees and bake for 40 minutes. Serve warm.
