
Bacon Jam
Description
A tasty appetizer for any gathering. Yes, it’s a surprising combination—at first glance, of things that seem incompatible. Jam and bacon. But no. It turns out it’s very tasty and piquant. This jam goes perfectly with your favorite baguette, or on Sunday as an accompaniment to scrambled eggs. It can be served warm or chilled.

1. Cut the bacon into pieces and fry until golden brown.

2. Slice the onion into thin slices.

3. Prepare the garlic. Lightly press each clove with the knife to crush it.

4. Transfer the cooked bacon to another container. Save the fat and chill it in the refrigerator.

5. Mix the onion and garlic, add a little fat. Cook the onion over medium heat until translucent.

6. Pour the sugar into a bowl and pour freshly brewed instant coffee and vinegar over it.

7. Then pour the coffee mixture into the saucepan and cook for about three minutes after it comes to a boil. Then reduce the heat to low and simmer the jam covered.

8. When the onion jam becomes thick, add the bacon.
