Dietary lavash
Description
Homemade baked goods for tea. Store-bought versions are often very fragile and tasteless. That's why I prefer to make lavash at home, and I'm happy to share with you a recipe for a delicious and diet-friendly lavash! You can store lavash in the refrigerator for quite a long time—just roll it into a tube and put it in a bag. It will last even longer if you freeze it. In the last photo, I wanted to show what a proper Armenian lavash looks like when torn open—it's hollow inside and consists of many, many thin layers. Serve it cooled down or slightly warm.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the ingredients. Let's get started!
- 2
Step 2

Dissolve the salt in a glass of warm water (very warm, but not boiling).
- 3
Step 3

Take a large bowl and sift the flour into it. Make a depression in the center.
- 4
Step 4

Pour in the water with salt.
- 5
Step 5

Add a couple of tablespoons of vegetable oil.
- 6
Step 6

Start quickly mixing the dough with a spoon. When it becomes difficult to do so, transfer it to the table and knead into a firm ball.
- 7
Step 7

Cover the dough with a bowl or plastic wrap and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- 8
Step 8

After 30 minutes, the dough became pliable and smooth. Divide it into 8 pieces. Roll each piece into a ball for easier rolling of round lavash later.
- 9
Step 9

Place the pan over medium heat. Roll out one piece of dough into a circle on a floured surface. My pan has a diameter of 24 cm, so I adjusted the flatbreads to fit this size.
- 10
Step 10

When the pan is well heated, there is no need to grease it. Cook on dry and clean! Place the dough and fry.
- 11
Step 11

After a few seconds, bubbles will begin to form on the lavash, and the bottom side will start to brown.
- 12
Step 12

Flip it over to the other side and fry for a few more seconds until golden brown.
- 13
Step 13

Be very careful when the lavash puffs up, hot steam comes out from the edges, it will eventually escape and the lavash will settle.
- 14
Step 14

The lavash is ready!
- 15
Step 15

Ready. Serve at the table.
- 16
Step 16

The pastry is ready. Serve with tea.
