Description

The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. Mont Blanc dessert is a classic French dessert made in winter, when edible chestnuts are abundant in supermarkets and markets. They are also available in our region, so you can prepare Mont Blanc dessert at home. I'm sure your guests will be delighted by both the taste and appearance of this dessert—they've probably never tried anything like it, unless they've been to France. The ready dessert can be served at the table.

Instructions

  1. 1

    Step 1

    Step 1

First of all, you need to boil edible chestnuts (sold at markets and large supermarkets) in water and peel them. Then place the peeled chestnuts into milk, add sugar, and simmer over the lowest heat for about an hour—until the chestnuts become very soft.

Drain all the liquid from the pot with the chestnuts and use a blender to make a chestnut purée. For a smoother texture, add about 50 ml of warm milk to the purée and blend again thoroughly until smooth.

    Step 3

Add butter, egg yolk, half of the cocoa, and half of the rum to the chestnut purée. Mix thoroughly. Then transfer the resulting chestnut cream into a pastry bag fitted with a thin nozzle, and pipe a small mound (see photo) onto a plate. Place the plate in the refrigerator.

Then whip the cream with the remaining rum, cocoa, and powdered sugar. Spread the cream over the set layer, as shown in the photo. Now chill the entire dessert (it should be served cold) — and it's ready to serve!
