Dessert with apples and pears
Description
This apple and pear dessert can be served either hot or cold, as a standalone dish or with ice cream, cookies, pancakes... In short, there are many ways to enjoy it. Here's how:

Pour wine into a saucepan and place over medium heat.

Wash the fruits, dry them.

Cut in half lengthwise. Remove the cores and all the pits. Sprinkle with lemon juice to prevent browning. You can leave the fruits whole instead of cutting them, if you prefer.

As soon as the wine begins to boil, add honey, star anise, cinnamon, and vanilla. Stir until the honey dissolves. Add the fruit, cover with a lid, and simmer over low heat for about an hour.

Turn off the heat, tightly cover with a lid, and let the fruits cool and soak in the syrup—for a hot dessert, only for a very short time.
