Danish cookies with coconut flakes
Description
The baking is simple and quick. When I was a little girl, someone once brought a beautiful tin box as a gift, filled with delicious cookies. That box is still at my mom's place—she keeps threads and needles in it now. For us kids, those cookies from the pretty tin were magically delicious. I still remember that taste to this day. Almost the same Danish cookies can be baked right at home. It's not difficult at all. Let's prepare some Danish cookies for evening tea using this easy recipe—just like from childhood. We won't need any special ingredients, so let's get started and good luck!
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

In a bowl where we will make the dough, crack an egg, add room-temperature butter, sugar, and part of the coconut flakes.
- 2
Step 2

Beat with a mixer for several minutes until well mixed.

Step 3

Add the flour and continue beating for 2-3 minutes. You should get a crumb-like mixture like this.
- 4
Step 4

Now, gather the crumbs with your hands and knead the dough.

Step 5

Divide the dough into equal pieces and roll them into small balls, slightly larger than a walnut. In a flat plate or on a table, mix sugar and coconut flakes, then lightly press and dip the dough balls into this mixture. If you want to make thin cookies, simply flatten each dough ball.

Step 6

Place the future cookies on a baking sheet with the topping side up. Bake at 180 degrees until done. They should turn a beautiful golden color.
