
Danish buns with marzipan and jam
Description
The pastry is simple and quick to prepare. Crispy puff pastry combined with cream cheese, raspberry jam, and marzipan creates a true culinary masterpiece. The difference between Danish pastries and croissants is that Danish pastries are richer and have a sweet filling.

1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees with the rack in the lower third. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Using a mixer, beat cream cheese and marzipan together at high speed for 1 minute. Add 1/4 cup powdered sugar and beat. Add egg yolk, vanilla extract, and salt, and beat until combined.

2. Place the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and roll it into a 25 cm square. Cut into 4 equal squares and place them on the prepared baking sheet.

3. Place a portion of the marzipan mixture in the center of each square, then add 1 teaspoon of raspberry jam.

4. In a small bowl, beat the egg white with a fork, then lightly brush the dough with a brush.

5. Lift 2 opposite corners of each dough square and join them in the center so that they slightly overlap each other. Brush the buns with egg white and sprinkle with sliced almonds.
