Churek
Description
The baking is simple and quick. Want to diversify your diet? Even without a bread machine, you can make delicious bread — chorek. I recommend a classic chorek recipe that will become a wonderful alternative to regular bread products. Serve warm or cooled. Perfect with tea.
Instructions

Step 1

1. To make chorek at home, first prepare the yeast dough: dissolve the yeast in warm water, add salt and flour. Knead the dough for about 15 minutes.

Step 2

2. To make kneading easier and more effective, I placed the dough onto a floured board. It should become elastic and not stick to your hands. Shape it into a ball and let it rise in a container with high sides, in a warm place.

Step 3

3. The dough usually rises for about two hours. After that, place it on a board or a floured work surface and press it down. This will give it an oval shape. Next, roll out the dough to a thickness of no more than 1.3 mm and a width of about 20 cm.

Step 4

4. Roll out the dough very easily with a rolling pin. To make the edges even, try shaping them by hand, then transfer to a baking sheet.

Step 5

5. Let the dough rise slightly on the baking sheet, then use a knife to make diamond-shaped cuts. To prevent the bread from burning, place foil on the bottom of the oven. At the very end, sprinkle with sesame or poppy seeds, but first brush with egg.

Step 6

6. The chorek is baked for no more than 25 minutes. It makes an excellent substitute for bread and looks similar to a regular thick lavash.
