
Daikon Chon
Description
The appetizer is quick and easy to prepare. Instead of Korean pancake mix, you can add corn starch, dried onion, ground black pepper, a pinch of sugar, and baking powder to wheat flour. It is better to use daikon of small or medium diameter. At first, the daikon is briefly blanched in hot water, then fried in batter. The appetizer is delicious served with a sauce made of sesame oil, rice vinegar, and soy sauce. The appetizer is ready. Serve immediately.

Prepare all the ingredients.

For the batter, mix water, a pinch of salt, and pancake mix until smooth. The batter should be neither too thick nor too thin.

Wash the daikon, peel it, and slice into 1 cm thick rounds.

Blanch the daikon in boiling salted water for 1–2 minutes. Then drain in a colander and let cool slightly.

Dip the daikon slices in the batter.

Heat vegetable oil in a skillet and fry the daikon for about 3–4 minutes on each side until golden brown.

Place the fried chon on paper towels to absorb the excess oil.
