
Chips in a Frying Pan

1. Thoroughly scrub the potatoes with a brush and slice them thinly using a special grater or in a food processor with the “Mandoline” attachment.

2. If time allows, pour water over the sliced potatoes and add 3 tablespoons of salt. Leave for half an hour. Then dry them. If there is no time, then we do nothing and salt the finished chips instead.

3. Pour oil into a deep skillet. It should fill the skillet to 2.5 cm from the bottom. Heat it thoroughly over high heat. You can check the required temperature in two ways. Drop in a small piece of bread; it should turn golden brown in 10 seconds. Or insert a wooden spoon; bubbles should appear.

4. Fry the potatoes in oil in small batches until golden-brown.

5. Place each batch on a layer of paper towels to remove excess oil.

6. Sprinkle the finished potato chips with your favorite spices or salt (if you did not soak the potatoes) and serve.
