Description

The recipe won't take much time. Baking bread at home isn't easy, especially when working with yeast dough, but how delightful it is to slice into it while still warm. Baking has never been my favorite activity, but there are certain recipes I don't mind spending time and effort on—this onion ciabatta recipe, for example. This Italian bread will please absolutely everyone, even those who don't usually enjoy baked goods, as it's incredibly tender, airy, and aromatic. Just imagine the amazing aroma filling your home as the ciabatta bakes in the oven—it's hard to resist eating the whole loaf! Believe me, once you've tried it, you'll never want to eat store-bought bread again. And that's not a problem, because now you'll know how to make onion ciabatta at home. Serve it with tea or coffee.

Instructions

  1. 1

    Step 1

    Step 1

Put 100 g of flour into a bowl, pour in 100 ml of warm water, add yeast and sugar. Mix everything and leave for half an hour in a warm place.

When the starter is ready, we can continue preparing. Sift the remaining flour into a deep bowl.

  5. 5

    Step 5

    Step 5

We need to knead the dough by hand very thoroughly, for no less than 20 minutes. Then we take a deep bowl (since the dough will rise) and grease it with olive oil.

  6. 6

    Step 6

    Step 6

Place the prepared dough into it, cover with a towel, and put in a warm place for 1.5 hours. During this time, the dough should rise significantly in volume.

  7. 7

    Step 7

    Step 7

After the time has elapsed, we place the dough on a flat surface; there's no need to knead it.

  8. 8

    Step 8

    Step 8

And divide into portions; the number of portions depends on how many ciabattas you want to make.

  9. 9

    Step 9

    Step 9

From each portion, carefully shape a rectangular loaf and place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  10. 10

    Step 10

    Step 10

Generously sprinkle the surface of the ciabatta with flour and leave the loaves in a warm place.

  11. 11

    Step 11

    Step 11

When they double in size, you can continue cooking.

  12. 12

    Step 12

    Step 12

Now preheat the oven to 210 degrees. Place a small pot of water on the bottom rack to create steam. Put the ciabattas in the oven for 15 minutes.

  13. 13

    Step 13

    Step 13

Next, we remove the pot with water, reduce the temperature to 200 degrees, and bake the ciabattas for another 10-15 minutes. We transfer the baked bread onto cooling racks to cool down, and then enjoy the taste of homemade bread. Bon appétit!
