Blueberry sauce
Description
A delicious addition to everyday and festive dishes. Blueberry sauce is not very easy to prepare, but the result is worth it. First, take a saucepan, add the berries and finely chopped onion (you can use a food processor), pour in water, and simmer for about 30 minutes. Remove from heat and strain the mixture through a sieve to remove skins, seeds, and other unwanted bits. Pour the resulting puree back into the saucepan, add sugar, salt, spices, and apple cider vinegar. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce the heat and continue cooking for another 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Fill sterilized jars with the sauce, seal them, and sterilize in a water bath for about 30 minutes. Then turn the jars upside down and let them stand for another 30 minutes. That's it—the sauce is ready for storage and consumption! In my personal opinion, this sauce goes best with meat dishes—cutlets, steaks, shashlik. It pairs wonderfully with poultry and is perfect served with pasta, meat, and vegetables.
