Cherries with pits for winter
Description
Homemade preserves keep for a long time. So, let me tell you: serve at the table or store in the pantry.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the berries: remove the stems, wash thoroughly, and pick out any spoiled berries. Put the water for canning the cherries on the heat and bring to a boil. Sterilize the jars and lids.
- 2
Step 2

Fill the jars tightly with berries, but do not press them down, so the berries stay whole and look nice. I canned them in 0.5-liter jars.
- 3
Step 3

Sprinkle the sugar on top. Use 50 g per jar.
- 4
Step 4

Pour in boiling water, stopping 1 cm short of the rim. Cover with lids.
- 5
Step 5

Place the jars in hot water and sterilize for 10 minutes from when the water in the pot comes to a boil; for a 1-liter jar, 12–15 minutes.
- 6
Step 6

Seal the jars, turn them upside down, and leave until completely cooled. After that, you can store them in a cool place.
