
Chicken chakhokhbili in the oven
Description
How to prepare chicken chakhokhbili in the oven at home? It's very simple. First, prepare chicken drumsticks and sear them in vegetable oil. Then simmer the chicken with tomatoes, onion, chili pepper, and sugar. Finally, bake the dish in the oven for no more than 5–7 minutes. Serve garnished with fresh herbs and rings of raw onion. It can also be served with flatbreads or lavash.

Rinse the chicken drumsticks and pat dry with a paper towel. Then sear them in vegetable oil on all sides until a golden crust forms.

Remove the skin from the tomatoes and cut them into cubes. Add the tomatoes to the chicken and simmer over medium heat.

In a separate skillet, sauté the onion sliced into rings until golden brown. Instead of oil, you can use chicken fat.

Transfer the fried onions to the chicken with tomatoes, cover with a lid and simmer over low heat for about 25 minutes.
