Whole grain burger buns
Description
This recipe won't take much time. I'll show you a very simple recipe for making these buns that even a beginner cook can handle. By the way, you can make the buns ahead and freeze them, and reheating a ready bun in the microwave or oven takes just a couple of minutes. You can serve them with tea or coffee.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the ingredients according to the list.
- 2
Step 2

In warm water, dissolve the dry yeast and sugar. Let stand for about 5 minutes until a foamy cap forms—this tells you the yeast is fresh and active.
- 3
Step 3

Add the salt and oil to the sponge.
- 4
Step 4

Add the wheat flour. Mix it into the sponge with a spoon.
- 5
Step 5

Then add whole wheat flour.
- 6
Step 6

Knead soft, elastic dough.
- 7
Step 7

Cover with a clean towel and leave in a warm place for 40–60 minutes.
- 8
Step 8

During this time, the dough will increase several times in size. Punch it down.
- 9
Step 9

Then divide the dough into 8–10 balls. Place the portions on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, cover with a towel, and let rest for about 20 minutes so they can rise.
- 10
Step 10

Then spray with water using a spray bottle and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Place in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 30 minutes. Adjust for your oven! Baking time may vary!
- 11
Step 11

Remove the finished buns, let them cool, and use them as intended.
- 12
Step 12

Remove from the oven and serve warm or at room temperature.
