Quick pie with jam
Description
To make a quick jam pie, you can use any jam you like: orange, peach, or apple jam works very well too. You'll also need two eggs—one whole egg for the dough, and the yolk from the second egg to brush the pie (you can use the leftover egg white to make a light whipped cream). Dust the finished pie with powdered sugar. Serve warm or chilled. Perfect with tea.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Place softened butter, sugar, egg, and baking powder into a blender or food processor. Sift flour into the mixture as well.
- 2
Step 2

Knead a soft and elastic dough.
- 3
Step 3

Divide the dough into two parts (one part being one third, and the other part two thirds). Shape into balls and refrigerate or freeze for 20 minutes.
- 4
Step 4

While the dough is chilling in the refrigerator, prepare the filling. Dry the walnuts in a skillet or oven, then chop them in a blender or simply crush with a rolling pin.
- 5
Step 5

Remove the dough from the refrigerator, roll out the larger portion, dusting with flour if needed (if it sticks). Place the dough into a pan (round or rectangular—this doesn't matter), and you can lightly grease the pan with a small amount of butter.
- 6
Step 6

Form the edges according to the shape, then spread the jam evenly.
- 7
Step 7

Sprinkle nuts on top.
- 8
Step 8

From the remaining half of the dough, make a lattice or grid by rolling out the dough and cutting it into strips.
- 9
Step 9

Securely attach the strips to the rim. Then mix a little salt, milk, and egg yolk. Brush the pie with this mixture—you'll get a very tasty, crispy crust.
- 10
Step 10

Bake the pie in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 30-40 minutes, until golden brown.
- 11
Step 11

Serve the ready quick jam pie with milk or tea.
