Quick Orange Cake
Description
Delicious pastry for the whole family. Before serving, you can additionally decorate the quick orange pie with powdered sugar and add a touch of green mint leaves. Both children and adults who appreciate tasty baked goods love it. So, if you prepare it for your family or guests, you definitely won't go wrong.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Mix and bring to a boil 100-120 grams of sugar with water (the syrup should thicken slightly).
- 2
Step 2

Place the oranges, sliced into thin rounds, into the syrup and simmer them over low heat, covered, for 7-8 minutes.
- 3
Step 3

Beat the remaining granulated sugar with the eggs. Then add the previously softened butter to the same container, and knead thoroughly until a smooth mixture is obtained. Now add the zest of one orange and mix everything well once again.
- 4
Step 4

Mix the flour with the baking powder, then gradually add it to the egg-butter mixture. The dough will turn out quite light and liquid.
- 5
Step 5

Line the baking pan with parchment paper and place the orange slices cooked in syrup on the bottom. You can experiment here: the way you arrange the oranges will determine the cake's final appearance. I arrange them in the shape of a flower—it's very simple and yet beautiful.

Step 6

Now carefully, without disturbing the arranged orange slices, pour the batter over them, smooth it out—and you can put the cake into the oven preheated to 200 degrees. Bake the orange cake for 25–30 minutes, slightly reducing the heat so that the temperature reaches 180 degrees.

Step 7

Check for doneness with a toothpick or wooden skewer: when no batter sticks to it, the cake is ready. Now remove the cake from the oven, let it cool down, then take it out of the pan, flip it over, and remove the parchment paper.
