Quick puff pastry
Description
Delicious pastries for the whole family. Even a beginner in cooking can easily prepare puff pastry at home using this recipe. I don't particularly enjoy working with puff pastry, but sometimes I still want to treat my loved ones to something tasty. That's when quick puff pastry comes to the rescue—it saves a tremendous amount of time. For this recipe, you'll need very cold ingredients: the butter should be frozen in the freezer, the flour and egg chilled in the refrigerator, and the water should be icy or at least refrigerated. Also, be sure to periodically cool your hands with cold water. And that's all the nuances. Serve the pastries cooled down or slightly warm.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Put flour into a bowl and grate frozen butter into it using a coarse grater. To prevent the butter from melting, periodically cool your hands in cold water and keep the butter submerged in the flour.
- 2
Step 2

Periodically stir the butter and flour to prevent the butter from clumping.
- 3
Step 3

In a measuring cup, lightly beat the egg, then add salt and vinegar. Add vinegar only if you are preparing the dough in advance. If you are baking on the same day you make the dough, vinegar is not needed.
- 4
Step 4

Add cold water to the egg until the total liquid volume reaches 250 ml.
- 5
Step 5

Pour the liquid into the mixture of flour and oil.

Step 6

Now quickly knead the dough. Wrap the dough in parchment paper and refrigerate for 2 hours.
