Sandwiches for a Festive Table

A quick, simple, and impressive treat that even a child can make. You can use any bread you like best. You can also prepare this appetizer with absolutely any filling. Take the idea as your starting point and create your own unique festive sandwiches.

Prepare all ingredients.

Dry the bread in a frying pan or in the oven.

Spread the bread with a thin layer of mayonnaise and place a lettuce leaf on top. Rinse the lettuce under running water beforehand and pat dry.

Place the tomatoes, sliced into wedges or rounds, on top. If desired, season the tomatoes with salt and pepper to taste.

Place pork loin or any other sausage products on the tomatoes. Now, using mayonnaise, draw a snake.

You can squeeze the mayonnaise straight from the packet. If you want your snake to look as beautiful and neat as possible, it is best to use a pastry piping bag. Cut off a corner of the desired size; if you do not have a special bag, use a plastic bag instead. Make the "pattern" zigzag-shaped so that it resembles a snake.

All that remains is to garnish the appetizer to your taste and serve it. I cut little flowers from the cheese using a special tool. I cut eyes from the olives and a tongue from the tomato skin.
