Melted Cheese Sandwiches
Description
This recipe won't take much time. For the sandwiches, I fry the baguette in vegetable oil, but you can also use butter with a pinch of salt. The filling consists of processed cheese, hard-boiled eggs, avocado, garlic, and mayonnaise. Any herbs, olives, or capers work well for garnish—I used green onions. I usually choose plain processed cheese without additives so the creamy, mild flavor and aroma come through. Serve the sandwiches freshly made, while the baguette is still crisp; after a while the baguette will soak up the mayonnaise and become soft.

Step 1

Prepare the ingredients. Boil the eggs and let them cool, then peel them. Squeeze the lemon juice; you will need 1 tsp. Peel the garlic.

Step 2

Grate the hard-boiled eggs, processed cheese, and avocado on a coarse grater (peel and remove the pit first); drizzle with lemon juice right away so it does not brown. Grate the garlic on a fine grater. Add salt, pepper, and mayonnaise.
