Trout Sandwiches
Description
Perfect for both special occasions and everyday meals. Use any type of bread you like—white, rye, or Borodinsky—but a baguette or sliced loaf works best. Don't forget melted cheese or a spread and sauce so the sandwiches stay juicy and flavorful. Fresh cucumbers, pitted green olives, boiled chicken or quail eggs, and fresh herbs pair wonderfully with trout. Serve the sandwiches immediately after making them. Serve the appetizer at the table.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the listed ingredients. Buy pre-sliced lightly salted trout at the store, or brine it yourself in advance.
- 2
Step 2

Place the baguette slices on a plate and spread each one with processed cheese—cream-style or Druzhba. If you like, you can use a thick sauce made with sour cream and cream instead of the cheese.
- 3
Step 3

Roll the trout slices into rose shapes and place them on half of a slice, leaving the other half unfilled. You can also cut the red fish into pieces or cubes.
- 4
Step 4

Rinse the leaf lettuce and tear off small pieces from the edges of the leaves. Use them to garnish the sandwiches, or replace the lettuce with fresh dill, parsley, and other herbs.
- 5
Step 5

Garnish the sandwiches with pitted olives so that pits are not encountered when tasting the dish. The olives may be sliced into rounds or placed whole.
- 6
Step 6

Season the colorful sandwiches with pepper, garnish with parsley leaves, and serve. They are completely ready! Don't forget to pour chilled sparkling wine into glasses and enjoy the prepared appetizer with your loved ones.
