Burger with Meatballs
Description
The appetizer comes together quickly and easily. My oven is small, so I swapped the French baguette for long rolls. From this amount of ingredients, I got three generous portions—everyone ate their fill! One long roll holds 4 large meatballs and 4 slices of cheese. So, let’s take a look,
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the ingredients. For the herbs, you can use dill, parsley, or green onion stalks. Fresh garlic can be replaced with powder. Let's get started!
- 2
Step 2

Add two tablespoons of grated cheese, chopped herbs, minced garlic, salt, Herbes de Provence, and breadcrumbs to the ground meat.
- 3
Step 3

Add a raw chicken egg and mix the minced meat well with your hands until smooth and uniform.
- 4
Step 4

Let the ground meat rest for a couple of minutes. It has a pleasant consistency and holds its shape easily thanks to the breadcrumbs.
- 5
Step 5

With wet hands, roll 12 balls. Place them on a greased baking sheet or in an ovenproof dish. Bake in the oven for 20 minutes at 200°C.
- 6
Step 6

In a skillet, heat the tomato sauce. As soon as it comes to a boil, add the cooked meatballs and turn them to coat on all sides, simmering in the sauce for a couple of minutes.
- 7
Step 7

Take a French baguette or long rolls. Cut them almost in half, without cutting all the way through, and remove the inner bread crumb. Brush the inside with olive oil, sprinkle with salt, and place in the oven to brown for a couple of minutes. Then fill the roll with meatballs in sauce.
- 8
Step 8

Cover each meatball with a large slice of cheese. Send to the oven for a couple of minutes until the cheese melts.
- 9
Step 9

And the final step: pour hot tomato sauce over the meatballs. Close the lid and cut the baguette (rolls) into small pieces.
- 10
Step 10

Serve immediately or slightly chilled.
