Step 1

1. The recipe for pork in dough begins with making the dough. First, dissolve the sugar and yeast in warm water. Let it sit for a short while until the yeast starts to "activate".

Step 2

2. Then add a little salt, baking powder, and oil, and gradually add the flour in small portions. Mix gently.

Step 3

3. Knead the dough until it no longer sticks to your hands. Cover with a clean towel and leave in a warm place for 40–50 minutes until the dough has increased in volume.

Step 4

4. Meanwhile, you can prepare the filling. Shred a small amount of cabbage. Wash, dry, and slice the green onions. Cut the garlic into small cubes or run it through a meat grinder. Peel the ginger and chop about 1 teaspoon. Wash the pork, pat dry, and mince with a knife or run through a meat grinder. Combine all the ingredients. Season lightly with salt and pepper to taste. Add a little soy sauce (optional). Mix everything thoroughly.

Step 5

5. When the dough has risen, place it on a flour-dusted surface and divide into small balls.

Step 6

6. Roll each ball of dough slightly and place a small amount of filling in the center. Pinch the edges closed and place the buns on a skillet with a small amount of vegetable oil.

Step 7

7. To ensure the pork in dough turns out juicy and cooks evenly at home, add a little water to the pan. Cover with a lid and cook over medium heat until the water has completely evaporated. These buns can be served with spicy or garlic sauce.
