Buns with boiled condensed milk
Description
Homemade baked goods for tea. You can prepare the yeast dough for these buns using your favorite recipe, or use mine. This recipe is tried and tested—follow it precisely, and the result will not disappoint you. Serve warm or cooled. Perfect with tea.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

For these buns, use yeast dough made with milk, for example—like the recipe below. It turns out exceptionally light and delicious! To prepare the dough, heat the milk to body temperature. Yeast will die in hot milk and won't activate in overly cold milk. Add sugar and yeast. The temperature should remain warm. Let it sit for 15 minutes, uncovered, so the yeast can activate in a warm, sweet environment.
- 2
Step 2

A foam cap should appear on the milk.
- 3
Step 3

Meanwhile, melt the butter and let it cool until warm. Then, crack the egg (not cold) into a deep bowl—remove it from the refrigerator in advance or warm it slightly in warm water before use. Add salt and vanilla sugar to the bowl and whisk lightly.
- 4
Step 4

Add the oil there as well, mix.
- 5
Step 5

Add the activated yeast to the mixture and stir.
- 6
Step 6

Next, add the sifted flour. Add enough flour so that the dough does not stick to your hands, but is not too stiff. Therefore, the amount of flour may differ from that specified in the recipe, due to varying levels of moisture and fat content in the ingredients.
- 7
Step 7

Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface. Make sure to knead it well. Boldly press it with your hands, slap and massage it for about 5-10 minutes.
- 8
Step 8

After kneading, grease the dough with vegetable oil, transfer it to a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm place.
- 9
Step 9

The dough will rise for about two hours; in the middle of this time, you can take it out and knead it again. When it rises for the second time, do not knead it.
- 10
Step 10

Sprinkle the table with flour, place the dough on it, and divide it into portions.
- 11
Step 11

Flatten each portion of dough with your hands to form a flatbread, then place a tablespoon of condensed milk inside.
- 12
Step 12

Then gather the edges, pinch them well, and shape into a bun.
- 13
Step 13

Place the shaped buns on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush them with a mixture of egg yolk and milk to achieve a golden, attractive crust. Optionally, sprinkle with poppy seeds. Bake in a preheated oven at 180–200 degrees Celsius for 40 minutes, or until done.
- 14
Step 14

Remove the baked buns from the baking sheet and let them rest under a towel for a while.
