Marmalade Buns
Description
Making such buns will not be a great effort. Any marmalade will do: with sugar or without it, as I use. You can use dry yeast, you will need 7–8 grams. The buns turn out fluffy, tender, and tasty. Exactly what you need with tea, coffee, milk, or compote. Serve warm or chilled. Perfect with tea.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the ingredients for making marmalade buns.
- 2
Step 2

Make the dough. For this, place the yeast in a bowl.
- 3
Step 3

Pour in warm milk, add sugar, vanilla sugar and salt.
- 4
Step 4

Crack an egg into a bowl.
- 5
Step 5

Add melted butter, which should be cooled slightly.
- 6
Step 6

Add sifted flour.
- 7
Step 7

Knead a soft, elastic dough. It will be a little sticky to the hands. That's normal.
- 8
Step 8

Place the bowl with the dough in a warm spot, covering it with a towel or plastic wrap. After an hour to an hour and a half, the dough will rise.
- 9
Step 9

After that, remove the dough from the bowl, pat it down, and divide it into balls weighing 50–60 grams.
- 10
Step 10

Roll each ball into a flat disc, and place marmalade in the center.
- 11
Step 11

Lift the edges of the flatbread upward, forming a pouch. Then seal them. It turned out a bun.
- 12
Step 12

Place the buns in a baking pan. Let them rest for 25‑30 minutes. During this time the buns will rise.
- 13
Step 13

Brush the buns with egg. You can sprinkle them with poppy seeds or sesame.
- 14
Step 14

Bake the jam buns for 40–45 minutes in an oven preheated to 175–180 °C.
- 15
Step 15

Remove the baked buns from the oven, let them cool, and serve with tea.
