Step 1

1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees. Place a 12-cup muffin tin on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Coarsely chop the pecans. Using a mixer, beat the butter and sugar together in a medium bowl. Spoon 1 tablespoon of the butter mixture into each of 6 muffin cups. Top with pecans, distributing them equally among the cups.

Step 2

2. Lightly flour a wooden board or work surface. Place a sheet of thawed puff pastry onto the board. Brush the entire sheet with melted, then cooled butter. Sprinkle the pastry with brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and raisins, leaving a 2.5 cm border around the edges untouched.

Step 3

3. Starting from the end closest to you, roll the dough into a log and place it seam side down. Trim the ends of the log, about 1 cm each, and discard.

Step 4

4. Cut the roll into 6 equal pieces, each about 3.5 cm wide. Place each piece spiral-side up into 6 compartments of a pan. Press the buns down so that the nuts are embedded into the dough.

Step 6

6. Let cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer the buns to a sheet of parchment paper to cool completely.
