Combine sifted flour with sugar, salt, and dry yeast.

Add the egg, softened butter, and pour in warm milk. Knead a soft, obedient dough. It's okay if it turns out a bit sticky; you shouldn't over‑flour the dough. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and let it rise to double its size in a warm place.

For the filling, mix the shredded coconut with softened butter and sugar, add the egg, and thoroughly stir the mixture with a fork until smooth.

Form the buns. I rolled the dough in portions into layers. I generously spread the filling on each layer, then rolled the dough layer into a log.

Place the formed buns on a parchment‑lined baking sheet and let them rise until their volume doubles. Before baking, you can brush the buns with an egg yolk mixed with milk.

Bake the risen buns in a preheated 180 °C oven for about 20 minutes, until golden brown. Remove the buns from the baking sheet and brush them lightly with butter, cover with a napkin. Serve the buns slightly warm for best flavor.
