Description
Budynė will make a wonderful breakfast or a light dinner for the whole family. It is quite easy to prepare from ingredients you always have at home. It pairs beautifully with honey and jam; you can serve milk, sweet tea, and coffee. Serve warm or chilled. Perfect with tea.

Prepare all the necessary ingredients for making budae jjigae.

You will need cold boiled rice; round-grain rice works best.

Separate the eggs into whites and yolks. Add a little salt to the yolks and whisk them lightly with a whisk.

Pour in the milk and stir.

Melt the butter, cool it, and pour it into a bowl; mix until smooth.

Add the boiled rice to the bowl and mix.

Add a pinch of salt to the egg whites and beat until soft peaks form. While continuing to beat, gradually add the sugar in portions. Beat until stiff peaks form. Transfer the egg whites to the bowl with the rice mixture and gently fold everything together.

Grease a 24 cm pan with vegetable oil and coat with breadcrumbs. Transfer the rice mixture.

Put everything in a hot oven and bake the budino for 50–60 minutes at 180°C. Take the budino out of the oven, let it cool, and serve.
