Boston cream pie
Description
This beautiful and simple Boston cream pie recipe was my favorite last season. I made this cake for every occasion throughout 2015—it looks both elegant and simple at the same time, so it fits perfectly both for a cozy tea party with friends at home and for a formal evening reception. In short, a universal recipe for a very easy-to-make cake—just for you. The dessert is ready. Serve it at the table.

Step 1

1. First, bake the sponge cake yourself or use a ready-made one. Place one layer on the bottom of the pan. If desired, you can soak it with something (for example, fruit juice, jam, or brandy), but it was not done in the original recipe.

Step 2

2. Next is the cream. Beat the condensed milk and melted butter at high speed using a mixer, gradually add sugar and vanilla, and finally the starch. If the cream isn't fluffy enough, thin it with whipped cream. Carefully spread it over the first cake layer.

Step 3

3. Now simply cover it with the remaining cake layer! For the glaze, I melt dark bitter chocolate and milk over a water bath. Important—the glaze should remain somewhat liquid, so if you have a fondue pot, keep the melted chocolate there and periodically pour it over the cake.

Step 4

4. And of course, generously drizzle it with chocolate glaze before serving. Enjoy your meal!
