Soak the lentils in hot water for 30 minutes. Then drain the water and rinse the lentils. This will make them cook faster.

Chop the onion, celery, and garlic into small cubes, and grate the carrot. Sauté the vegetables over medium heat until golden brown.

Add the tomato paste and lentils, mix well. Sauté everything together for another 3-4 minutes.
