Pancakes with onions
Description
Perfectly pairs with tea and coffee. These pancakes make an excellent alternative to onion pies when you don't feel like working with dough. Serve the pancakes with milk, sweet hot tea, and sour cream. Instead of green onions, you can add fried onion to the batter. The baked goods are ready. Serve at the table.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the necessary ingredients for making onion pancakes. Sort through the green onions, rinse them, and dry on a towel.
- 2
Step 2

Pour warm kefir into a bowl and add the egg.
- 3
Step 3

Add salt to the dough.
- 4
Step 4

Pour the sugar into a bowl.
- 5
Step 5

Mix everything well with a whisk or mixer at low speed until smooth.
- 6
Step 6

Melt the butter, add it to the bowl, and mix well until smooth.
- 7
Step 7

Mix the wheat flour with the baking powder and sift into a bowl with the liquid ingredients. Be sure to add the baking powder to the dough—it will make the dough soft and airy, and the pancakes will turn out fluffier.
- 8
Step 8

Mix everything thoroughly until you get a smooth batter without lumps.
- 9
Step 9

Finely chop the green onions and add them to the dough. Mix all ingredients well, then let the dough rest for 15 minutes on the kitchen counter, covering the bowl with a lid.
- 10
Step 10

Place the pan over medium heat, grease it with vegetable oil, and heat. Pour part of the batter into the pan and spread it evenly by tilting the pan from side to side. Cook the pancake until the top sets and the bottom turns golden, about 1-2 minutes.
- 11
Step 11

Flip the pancake and cook the second side. This will take about 30 seconds.
- 12
Step 12

Remove the ready pancake with a spatula onto a plate and spread with butter. Cook all the pancakes this way until the batter is used up. Serve the ready onion pancakes immediately.
- 13
Step 13

Remove from the oven and serve warm or cooled.
