Pancakes with boiling water on kefir
Description
Delicious baked goods for the whole family. Best served right away while hot. Cook the pancakes on a well-heated non-stick pan. If the pancakes happen to tear—which depends on the kefir and flour quality—add one more egg to the batter. Serve with jam, caramel, condensed milk, or sour cream. They go well with tea or coffee.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the necessary ingredients for making pancakes with boiling water and kefir.
- 2
Step 2

In a bowl, break the egg and add sugar and salt.
- 3
Step 3

Pour the kefir into a bowl.
- 4
Step 4

Mix everything well with a whisk until smooth.
- 5
Step 5

Pour in the vegetable oil and mix again with a whisk.
- 6
Step 6

Sift the wheat flour into the mixture. This will aerate the flour, making the pancakes more tender, and also remove any lumps from the flour.
- 7
Step 7

Mix the ingredients until a smooth, lump-free batter forms. Cover the bowl with a lid and let the batter rest on the kitchen counter for 25 minutes.
- 8
Step 8

Add baking powder to the dough and mix.
- 9
Step 9

While stirring the batter with a whisk, pour in the boiling water. Quickly knead the dough until smooth.
- 10
Step 10

Place a pan over medium heat, grease it with vegetable oil, and heat. Pour in a small portion of the batter and spread it evenly over the entire bottom. Cook until the top layer sets and the bottom becomes golden brown.
- 11
Step 11

Flip the pancakes and fry the other side.
- 12
Step 12

Transfer the cooked pancake to a plate and continue making pancakes until the batter is used up. Stack the cooked pancakes in a pile, and if desired, brush each pancake with butter.
- 13
Step 13

Ready. Serve at the table.
