Lacy pancakes
Description
Perfect for tea and coffee. If you have time and desire, I suggest baking delicate, elegant, and very tasty lace pancakes. The recipe for making these lace pancakes is simple, but the batter requires more time to "rest" compared to regular pancake batter. Yet, what a beautiful and delicious result you'll get in the end... True, you can't fill these pancakes with stuffing—the filling would leak through the holes. These lace pancakes are best served with honey, jam, or sour cream. Serve them warm or chilled. Ideal with tea.

Step 1

Warm one-third cup of milk and dissolve sugar in it. Then add dry yeast, stir, and place in a warm spot.

Step 2

When the yeast rises like this, we'll proceed to prepare the dough.

Step 3

Warm the remaining milk, add salt, eggs, yeast mixture, and mix well. Then add the sifted flour and mix thoroughly until no lumps remain. Place the dough in a warm spot.

Step 4

When the dough has risen, stir it and let it rise again. Then stir it once more and wait for it to rise.

Step 5

Add vegetable oil to the batter, mix well again, and start frying the pancakes. Our batter should look like a foam with lots of bubbles. Before frying the first pancake, lightly grease the pan with oil and heat it up. Pour the batter onto the skillet and cook over slightly higher than medium heat.

Step 6

As soon as the bottom side of the pancake turns golden brown, flip the pancake and fry the second side.
