Peasant-style cutlets
Description
The recipe won't take much time. 1. To prepare peasant-style cutlets at home, first peel and finely dice an onion. 2. Wash the tomatoes, scald with boiling water, and remove the skins. Cut each into 4–6 pieces. 3. Wash sweet peppers (preferably of different colors), remove seeds and stems, and cut into large cubes or strips. 4. Pour a little vegetable oil into a high-sided frying pan or saucepan, and add the onion. 5. Peel the garlic and press it through a garlic press. Add to the sautéed onion. 6. Add the peppers and tomatoes next. Season with salt and pepper to taste, and add dried herbs for extra aroma. 7. Meanwhile, chop the meat into small pieces or grind through a meat grinder. To the minced meat, add an egg, breadcrumbs or a piece of soaked bread, and season with salt and pepper to taste. 8. Shape the mixture into cutlets and place them into the saucepan with the vegetables. Pour in broth and simmer over low heat until cooked through. Another variation for making peasant-style cutlets is to add potatoes. Serve the dish hot, optionally sprinkled with fresh herbs. Serve hot.
