Biscuit cake with meringue and nuts
Description
The baking is simple and quick. For those who enjoy baking, I'd like to suggest a very interesting option. The baked goods are ready. Serve at the table.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

1. To prepare the dough, sift the dry ingredients—flour, baking soda, baking powder, cocoa, and sugar—into a deep bowl. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, then add vegetable oil and milk. Gradually add the dry ingredients in small portions, continuing to beat. Finally, pour in boiling water and mix once more.

Step 2

2. Pour into a greased heatproof baking dish or one lined with parchment paper, and bake at 180 degrees for about half an hour.
- 3
Step 3

3. Let the finished biscuit cool well.
- 4
Step 4

4. For the meringue, beat the sugar with the egg whites into a stiff mixture. Using a pastry bag (although you can also use a teaspoon) pipe small meringues onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- 5
Step 5

5. The oven should be preheated to 110 degrees. Bake the meringue for about 80–90 minutes, then turn off the oven and leave the baking sheet inside until it cools down completely.
- 6
Step 6

6. You can use any nuts you prefer. The quantity also depends on your taste preferences. Chop the nuts slightly with a knife so they are in pieces.
- 7
Step 7

7. To prepare the cream, combine softened butter and condensed milk in a deep bowl.
- 8
Step 8

8. And beat until smooth.
- 9
Step 9

9. Once all the preparatory steps are completed, you can proceed to assemble the cake. You can slightly trim the cake layer if the edges have dried out.
- 10
Step 10

10. Place the sponge cake on a plate and spread it with cream.
- 11
Step 11

11. Place the begettes in an even layer on top.
- 12
Step 12

12. Next, it's better to spread the meringue "bottom" with cream for more secure attachment to the cake.
- 13
Step 13

13. Arrange the meringues as you like. Fill the spaces between them with nuts and, of course, cream.
- 14
Step 14

14. Once the cake is assembled, generously sprinkle it with nuts.
- 15
Step 15

15. And optionally, add icing by melting the chocolate.
- 16
Step 16

16. Here's the beauty! The cake should sit overnight before serving so it can soak up the flavors well.
