Sponge cake with whipped cream
Description
Homemade baked goods for tea. Nothing is simpler and tastier than a sponge cake. For making a sponge cake with whipped cream, I usually use a ready-made sponge cake layer (I prefer chocolate one—it looks great paired with white cream). If you wish, you can find a sponge cake batter recipe on the website and bake the layer yourself. Be sure to use 33% cream; otherwise, the result won't be the same.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Cut the chocolate sponge cake into two parts. If the thickness allows, you can even cut it into three.
- 2
Step 2

Whip the cream thoroughly with sugar using a mixer until thick white foam forms. Carefully and evenly spread the whipped cream between each cake layer.

Step 3

Also coat the sides of the cake with cream and sprinkle with grated chocolate. You can eat the cake right away, but I recommend putting it in the refrigerator for half an hour to let it soak.

Here's the beautiful sponge cake with whipped cream we ended up with.
