Description

Homemade baked goods for tea. A buttery sponge cake will be an excellent base for making cakes and pastries. It goes perfectly with any cream. If you want to make a sponge cake for a cake, use a 16-centimeter diameter pan; if you simply want baked goods for tea, use a 22–24 centimeter pan. Serve cooled or slightly warm.

    Prepare all the necessary ingredients for making Queen Victoria's sponge cake. Take the butter out in advance so that it becomes soft.

    Place soft butter into a bowl, add vanilla sugar, and beat until you get a white, fluffy mixture. This will take about 4-5 minutes.

    Break the eggs into a bowl, add sugar, salt, and vanilla sugar. Beat until light and fluffy, increasing in volume by 2-3 times, about 5 minutes.

    While beating the butter mixture, gradually pour in the beaten eggs in a thin stream. Beat until smooth and uniform.

    Combine the flour, starch, and baking powder, and mix. Sift the flour mixture into the batter and gently fold from the bottom up until you achieve a light, homogeneous dough.

    Line the bottom of a removable mold with silicone parchment paper and pour in the batter, smoothing it evenly.
