Biscotti with Parmesan and ham
Description
The baked goods come together simply and quickly. As far as I know, biscotti are not just delicious Italian cookies—they’re Christmas cookies too. According to the Italian Wikipedia, in Italy biscotti are traditionally baked for the Christmas and New Year holidays. We don’t have that tradition here, so I personally bake biscotti all year round, whenever I feel like it. In my opinion, they’re a wonderful snack with wine, and altogether a great thing when you want to nibble on something tasty. I hope you like my recipe :) Good luck. The baked goods are ready. Serve at the table.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Slice the ham as thinly as possible into slices (I buy it pre-sliced), then cut each slice into pieces about the size of a five-kopeck coin.
- 2
Step 2

Finely grate the Parmesan.
- 3
Step 3

Beat the butter until pale and fluffy.
- 4
Step 4

While continuing to beat the butter with a mixer, add the eggs, flour, then the Parmesan, salt, and pepper to the mixture. At the very end, fold pieces of ham into the dough.
- 5
Step 5

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, then place the dough on it in a loaf shape.
- 6
Step 6

Bake for 25 minutes at 180 degrees. Then remove our loaf and slice it into slices about 1.5–2 cm thick.
- 7
Step 7

Place the sliced pieces back in the oven and bake (or rather, dry them out) for another 20 minutes at 135°C. Ten minutes before the biscotti finish baking, turn them over (so they bake evenly).
