Bigus with minced meat
Description
The recipe won't take much time. Here I'm sharing with you the simplest version of bigos with minced meat, but if you happen to have at home, say, a smoked sausage, a piece of bacon, or sauerkraut, feel free to add all of that to the bigos. Be sure to try making it. Serve hot.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Peel and wash the carrots. Rinse the cabbage as well.
- 2
Step 2

Shred the cabbage into thin strips.
- 3
Step 3

Place the cabbage in a large bowl, sprinkle with salt, knead with your hands, and set aside for 15–20 minutes.
- 4
Step 4

Grate the carrot on a coarse grater.
- 5
Step 5

Heat vegetable oil in a skillet, add the minced meat.
- 6
Step 6

Cook the minced meat over medium heat, stirring with a spatula, until it changes color.
- 7
Step 7

Then add the carrots to the minced meat.
- 8
Step 8

Stir-fry everything together for another 5 minutes, stirring with a spatula.
- 9
Step 9

Then add the cabbage to the pan. Cover the pan with a lid and simmer over medium heat for 15-20 minutes.
- 10
Step 10

Then taste and add salt if necessary, as well as black ground pepper. Cover the pan with a lid again and continue simmering the cabbage until tender. Five minutes before it's done, press the peeled garlic cloves through a garlic press into the cabbage.
