Bigos with fresh cabbage and meat

Description

The dish turns out amazing thanks to the spices, tomato paste, and prunes. It's best served hot with rye bread and can be garnished with fresh herbs. Bigos is an excellent alternative to your usual everyday meals. Be sure to try making it at home—you won't regret it, no doubt about it.

    Step 1

    Pour water into a frying pan and simmer the dried mushrooms until tender, cooking for 20–40 minutes. After that, add spices, sliced pork, and sausages. Drain the juice from the sauerkraut, and clean and rinse the fresh mushrooms.

    Vegetable oil should be poured into a deep frying pan or pot and heated, then add the pork. Next, add the onion, cut into half-rings, and fresh cabbage, previously shredded.

    Add the spices and mix thoroughly. Remove the pork shoulder from the pan, take out the bones, then cut into pieces.

    Next, add tomato paste and mushrooms, then pour in the beer. Evaporate the liquid and simmer for 2 hours, allowing the cabbage to become tender. Then add prunes and cook for another 30 minutes.
