Description

Delicious baked treat for the whole family. Here is one of the simplest recipes for preparing a fragrant Filipino dessert. This aromatic rice flour cake is traditionally baked for Christmas, always lined with banana leaves, as they impart a unique flavor to the pastry. You can substitute the yeast in the dough with baking powder (2 teaspoons). Additionally, once the bibingka has partially baked, pieces of salted duck egg are often placed on top and sprinkled with cheese. Now you know! Serve cooled or slightly warm.
