Bereke with cheese
Description
Homemade pastries for tea. I really love pies, and Turkish cuisine is also close to my heart, so I was thrilled when I found this recipe for making cheese borek. Fortunately, there's a Turkish store nearby where I can buy ready-made Turkish dough, and apart from that, there's almost nothing to do here. This pie turns out absolutely amazing—very juicy and filling. And the aroma while baking is simply indescribable. Our small family of three devoured the whole pie in just minutes, so now I make it quite often. Besides, you can make it not only with cheese filling but also with meat. It always comes out delicious. So if you'd like to try this amazing dish, let me tell you how.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

For the filling, it's best to use a slightly salty cheese, such as feta (not too salty) or cottage cheese. Place it in a bowl and mash lightly with a fork.
- 2
Step 2

Wash the fresh parsley thoroughly and chop it finely, then add it to the cheese and mix everything together.
- 3
Step 3

In a separate bowl, crack the eggs, add milk, vegetable oil, salt and pepper, then mix all ingredients until smooth.
- 4
Step 4

Grease a baking sheet or a large baking pan with vegetable oil. Place the first layer of dough on the bottom, gather it into pleats along the bottom, and leave the edges long.
- 5
Step 5

Now pour the prepared mixture of milk, eggs, and butter over everything.
- 6
Step 6

And place half of the cheese filling on top, spreading it evenly.
- 7
Step 7

Cover everything with the second layer of dough, gathering it into folds again. Pour the filling over the second layer and sprinkle with the remaining topping. Then place the third layer of dough on top.
- 8
Step 8

Pour the remaining batter over it and fold the edges of the first layer upwards, gently pressing the pie down.
- 9
Step 9

Now cut the borek into portion pieces and pour over mineral water.
- 10
Step 10

Place the borek in a preheated oven at 200 degrees for 15-20 minutes. Once it develops a delicious golden crust, remove it from the oven, let it cool slightly, then serve warm.
