Belyashi from cottage cheese dough
Description
Delicious baked goods for the whole family. One important nuance of belyashi made from cottage cheese dough is that they must be fried over very low heat. Important! Start frying each belyash from the side with the “little window.” That way the meat filling seals shut and the juices will not run out. You can serve them with tea or coffee.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the necessary ingredients.
- 2
Step 2

Make the dough. In a bowl, mix the egg, cottage cheese, sour cream, sugar, and salt.
- 3
Step 3

Add baking soda to the resulting mixture and stir. Leave for 5 minutes.
- 4
Step 4

Then add flour.
- 5
Step 5

First mix the dough with a spoon; as soon as it starts to come together in clumps, knead it with your hands. The dough should be soft and pliable. If it sticks slightly to your hands, rub them with oil and knead the dough again.
- 6
Step 6

Shape the dough into a ball, wrap in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- 7
Step 7

Prepare the filling. Mix the minced meat with salt, pepper, and chopped onion.
- 8
Step 8

When the time is up, take the dough out of the refrigerator. Divide into 10 pieces. Shape into rounds.
- 9
Step 9

Take one piece and roll it out to a thickness of 0.5 cm. Place 1½ level tablespoons of filling on each piece. Start pinching from the centre, leaving a small “window” open.
- 10
Step 10

Gently press the prepared belyash with your palm.
- 11
Step 11

Prepare the remaining batches in the same way.
- 12
Step 12

In a Dutch oven (a tall pot), heat vegetable oil. Turn the heat down to the lowest setting. Lower the belyashi into the oil and fry for 3–5 minutes on each side. Watch them so they do not burn.
- 13
Step 13

Place the finished belyashi on a platter and serve.
